[ beach pizza ]

IT'S FUNNY how when you live somewhere, often you don't take the time to enjoy what's around. At least that seems to happen with us. So to shake things up a bit, we decided to take a holiday for a couple of hours...

The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is a lovely resort on the Gulf and a perfect spot to get away from it all...

... with sparkling waters, sandy beaches and a direct view to the Burj Al Arab...

We decided to pretend for a couple of hours and enjoy some pizza by the beach...

... a couple of fruity mocktails...

... it was the perfect escape from real life...

Why we don't do this type of thing more often is beyond me. I guess you just get into your normal routine and weekends are spent doing the typical stuff, running errands, going to movies...

Sometimes I need to remind myself that in only a few short months, it will be too hot again to be outside and we'll be trapped indoors for the summer. Hmm... where should our next "holiday" be?

Lovely shots and so true...it's so easy to get caught up in routine that we forget to take a look what is right in our own backyard!

That looks like a nice way to spend some time, and just that change of scenery can be so helpful!

I'm a bit jealous here! WOW! I can feel the sun, the sea =D Here in Finland it is no very cold and equal amount of snow than you have sand :)

Sigh, looks heavenly. I regret not taking "vacations" more when we loved in Washington DC, we were so caught up on life that I feeler we missed out on seeing and experiencing a few things.
